The biggest threat to our children and working age group adults, at present, is rapid rise in prevalence of obesity and diabetes. This challenge has to be met with scientific knowledge and devising appropriate strategies to combat this epidemic. A small step in this direction is planning this scientific meet "Sir Ganga Ram, SAARC Diabetes Conference" to be held on 03-04 November 2007. The theme is Obesity & Diabetes.

The main purpose of the conference is to provide a forum for SAARC delegates working in the field of diabetes and obesity, to exchange their scientific knowledge and experiences, as well as the opportunities to present their work. This event will also provide opportunities for the fellows to learn and discuss the various possibilities to enhance the diabetic care within our region and beyond. Moreover it will be a unique chance for us to build scientific networks, so that new strategies could be devised to prevent development of obesity and diabetes.
